For many legal transactions, notarisation by a notary is required by law. The notary acts as an independent and impartial adviser to all parties involved. As a notary, I am in principle competent for all notarial matters without restriction, including notarisations in real estate and property development law, company law, inheritance law and family law.
Notarial fees
Notarial fees are laid down by law nationwide in the Court and Notary Fees Act (GNotKG). This means that they are generally the same throughout Germany, regardless of the federal state in which a notarisation takes place and regardless of whether it is carried out by a full-time notary or a lawyer notary.
The Court and Notary Fees Act provides for a particularly social fee system: everyone can afford a notary, because the fees depend on the value of the transaction. The advice preceding a notarisation, including the preparation of drafts, is covered by the notarisation fee – irrespective of how much time was spent on it.
Further information, examples and a fee calculator are available on the website of the Federal Chamber of Notaries (in German): Notarial fees | Notar.de
